In 2018 at the Mike Rozier Construction Company Christmas Party our president, Michael Rozier, announced the creation of the Mike Rozier Construction Scholarship Fund at the Pinebelt Foundation. This scholarship was established by Mike Rozier Construction Company Inc. in order to provide financial aid for the children or grandchildren of Mike Rozier Construction employees in need of assistance to pursue higher education. The purpose of this fund is to provide annual scholarships to deserving high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or vocational program, and/or to deserving high school graduates currently enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical program.
We are proud to announce the 2020 recipient of the Mike Rozier Construction Scholarship is Sara Austin Welch.
Sara Austin Welch
Sara Austin Welch is a graduating senior from Carroll Academy in Carrollton, MS. She is the daughter of Jessica Welch, who works in our Greenwood office. While in school, Sara has been involved with the Carroll Academy Student Council, sponsored as the Douglas Carroll Junior American Citizens and Midsouth Association of Independent Schools Student Council Association, where she has served as Student Council President and Midsouth Association of Independent Schools Council Vice President. She has also been a member of the Carrol Academy Annual, the National Beta Club, the Junior American Legion Auxiliary Post 52, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Throughout her four years of high school, she has been recognized as a Carroll Academy Honor Roll student and received multiple awards for her involvement with Student Council. Following graduation, Sara plans to attend the University of Mississippi to pursue a degree in Political Science and then attend the University of Mississippi Law School to earn a Juris Doctorate degree in Agricultural Law.
