Job Description: Rozier Construction is accepting applications for a part-time Summer Intern to join our team and gain valuable experience in the construction field. The ideal candidate will be enrolled as a student at either a 4-year college or community college in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Building Construction Science, Architectural Engineering Technology, or other related programs. Candidates, depending on field of study, should be willing to work in a variety of settings including in the field and/or in the office. Candidate must commit to the company's mission of Building Trust Through Our Integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities will vary depending on needs of the company at the location the intern is employed
- Work effectively in the areas of project management, estimating, scheduling, and safety
- Complete various tasks in the field and office as assigned
- Assist Project Managers through all phases of a project from bidding through closeout
- Work at all levels of the construction process including serving, when necessary, as an on-site crew team member, assistant superintendent, estimator, etc.
Qualifications:
- Student enrolled in a 2- or 4-year construction program (Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Building Construction Science, Architectural Engineering Technology, or other related programs)
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA preferred
- Prior internship and/or related experience preferred
- Willingness to work on a team
- Ability to apply standard construction procedures within the field
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Highly organized
- Motivated and willingness to try new things
Position Details:
- Fall or Spring interns will be expected to work at least 20 hours per week
- Summer Interns will be expected to work from the end of school in May until the beginning of school in August
- Preference will be given to applicants that have available housing in the location of the internship
